How to book advanced imaging with Function

Full-body lab testing meets advanced imaging. We have the tools and technology to see beneath the surface to give you a more complete picture of your health and to track your health more closely as it evolves—as you evolve.

Function Scans options include a 22-minute MRI with FDA-cleared AI. Advanced imaging is designed to help detect early signs of disease before symptoms show—various types of cancer, aneurysms, risk of strokes, brain health decline, fatty liver, and hundreds more. With Function, advanced imaging can become a part of your new baseline for proactive health.

How It Works

1. Join Function

You can join Function here to book an appointment for advanced imaging or visit the Ezra site for direct booking.

2. Schedule Lab Testing

If booking through Function, you must schedule your lab testing before booking a scan. Function lab testing can be easily scheduled and completed within approximately 15 minutes at any of the 2,000+ Quest Diagnostics locations across the country.

3. Create an Ezra Account

Once a Function member, on your dashboard you can access your unique link to Ezra’s website where you’ll need to create an account to purchase and schedule your scan. Your discount will be applied automatically at checkout.

4. Book Your Scan

Once you’ve purchased your scan on Ezra’s website, you will book your scan at your nearest partner facility. Ezra currently partners with imaging facilities across the U.S.

* While all of these locations conduct at least one version of advanced imaging options, not all of them currently offer all four versions. When you schedule your scan, you’ll be able to see which are available at the locations nearest to you—and we plan to scale availability rapidly in the near future.

5. Receive Your Results

The results of your imaging are typically available within 7-10 business days, and you’ll be notified via email. A medical professional will have reviewed your results, which you can access as a report in your Ezra account.

* In the future, we plan to incorporate these results into your Function account for a more complete view of your health, all in one place.

Additional Information

Pricing

Function membership costs $499 per year. Advanced imaging is billed separately, starting from $499 for a 22-minute MRI powered by FDA-cleared AI. You can access powerful health data that can help detect early signs of thousands of diseases—with one membership. Both Function membership and advanced imaging are HSA or FSA eligible.

Eligibility

Imaging cannot be accessed by those who are under 18 years of age, currently pregnant, have certain metal in their bodies, including pacemakers and certain prosthetic implants, those with a recent cancer diagnosis and/or actively receiving current treatment for cancer, or those looking for symptom-specific evaluation (in which case, we recommend speaking to a PCP).

Scan Options

The MRI Scan takes approximately 22 minutes and is available to Function members for $499. This scan is a fit for those looking for the most affordable, time-efficient way to get an advanced view of their body.

The MRI Scan with Spine takes approximately 47 minutes and includes everything in the MRI Scan, as well as a scan of the spine. This scan is designed to help detect signs of herniated discs, spinal cord compression, and vertebral fractures; it’s a logical choice for people experiencing an ongoing problem like lower back pain, sciatica, or disc degeneration.

The MRI Scan with Skeletal & Neurological Assessment includes everything in the MRI Scan with Spine, plus additional screening for neurodegeneration, MS, and dementia. Also includes advanced assessments for brain age, body composition, and hip/knee joint health. For those who want access to cutting-edge imaging (and don’t mind scheduling two separate 60-minute sessions), this option makes sense.

The Heart & Lungs CT Scan takes 3 minutes and is available as an add-on to any scan. This low-dose CT screens for potential issues in the lungs and heart, which may be especially valuable for people with a history of smoking or thoracic concerns.
